Vermont children continue to be exposed to lead and there is no safe level of lead. Young children are particularly vulnerable to lead as it has permanent effects on their developing brains. The primary source of lead exposure is lead-based paint in pre-1978 housing and surrounding soil.
Public Education

Educating Vermont’s children stands as one of our society’s most significant responsibilities. Despite major challenges in today’s society, Vermont is fortunate to have a strong system of local schools where volunteer boards give their time, and the school is part of what makes the community strong.
