While there is no safe level of lead, Vermont children continue to be exposed. Young children are particularly vulnerable to lead as it has permanent effects on their developing brains. The primary source of lead exposure is lead-based paint in pre-1978 housing and surrounding soil.
Brattleboro Reformer and Burlington Free Press Run Paid Sick Days Op-Ed
Published March 17, 2010Over the weekend of March 13-14, the Brattleboro Reformer and the Burlington Free Press published an opinion piece written by Randy George, owner of the Red Hen Baking Company, a small Vermont business. In the op-ed Randy makes the case that offering paid sick days to employees makes good business sense.
